Current title stars Liam Readhead and Michael Dameski exit the production, with the former playing his last performance August 29, 2010, and the latter on September 5, 2010.
Mazurowski, McCaffrey and Rush join a cast that features Jacob Clemente, Alex Ko and Dayton Tavares as Billy, Kate Hennig as Mrs. Wilkinson, Gregory Jbara as Dad, Carole Shelley as Grandma, Jeff Kready as Tony, Stephanie Kurtzuba as Mum, Joel Hatch as George, Thommie Retter as Mr. Braithwaite, Izzy Hanson-Johnston as Debbie and Seth Fromowitz and Luke Trevisan as Small Boy.
Mazurowski is making his Broadway debut with Billy Elliot, and will be the tenth boy to step into the role on the Great White Way. He trained at the New Hampshire School of Ballet. McCaffrey has previously been seen on Broadway in Bye, Bye Birdie and Mary Poppins. Rush is making his Broadway debut, after playing the role of Michael in the first national touring production of Billy Elliot in Chicago. He also recently performed with the touring run of new musical 101 Dalmations.
Set against the historic British miners' strike of the 1980s, Billy Elliot follows Billy's journey as a boy in a small mining town who, after stumbling across a ballet class while on his way to a boxing lesson, realizes that his future lay not in the boxing ring but on stage as a dancer. Featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, the show won 10 Tony Awards in 2009, including Best Musical.
